My dads Silverado has the sensor to detect if someone is in the passenger seat and it doesn't have the an airbag switch either.

Pretty fancy stuff for Fords most neglected vehicle.

Well I think the newer Ranger would piss me off then. I often ride with my camera bag with all my camera gear on the passenger seat. The bag has to weigh at least 40 lbs.

I think it's 07 and up. My 06 doesn't have that feature, I can turn it on and off as I please.

Or you can bring it to me and I will shut it off with the computer..

I have tried to do one by doing the plug and unplug method with no success I had to use the computer.

Very simple just do it like the instructions say and you are good to go

Read instructions a few times over to memorize it

I tryed this on a 2000 Ranger 3.0 and could't get it to work. Tryed numerous times but the seat belt light would not come on after step 5. Any suggestions? Now when the seat belt light we are talking about is the icon in the lower left, right? Maybe I am just a Duuuuuuhh!

After step 5 the safety belt light is on for 3 seconds

Within seven seconds of it going off buckle and then unbuckle the seat belt

You have to be sure you're looking at the correct seat belt light. I was looking at the wrong one and never could figure it out. I've since got it to work on my 2001..

You have to wait for the correct seatbelt light to go out which does take at least a full minute..

So is this a permanent fix or do you have to repeat the process?

My wife's 09 Focus has the procedure, but you have to do it each time you start the car.
