I'd just pick one up at the jy, just a few bucks. You can usually find them fairly easy on Explorers.

Re: How-To: OHC Install
Question guys. I plan on doing this install soon but I'm curious how everyone is cutting the slots for the mounting tabs to go into? I'm doing this in the parking lot of my college so advanced tools aren't really an option.

Haha I'm in college and did it in my parking lot as well. I used a drill to make a few holes in a line and then slowly round them closer until it all broke through to make a straight line.

I just drilled a few holes side by side and bent the metal with a flat head screwdriver, then cleaned it up as best I could to where it wasn't all jagged. Just be sure when you're doing it, you only drill through the inner plate and not your roof as well lol. I scared myself a couple times when the drill bit broke through the first plate when I wasn't ready lol.

X2!
Actually i used a mini-grinder tool that can be used for polishing as well. Drilled a big hole and used the small grinder heads to make a nice and pretty bracket hole.

Re: How-To: OHC Install
On the bracket hole I drilled 3 holes, then used a file to cut the holes to match. I also took the front tab off the front.

For the slots, I used a drill, cordless plunge saw and a file. Holes and a file will work.

I've seen that happen before. If you YouTube Ford explorer over head console display or something along those lines. There is a little part on the board that needs to be re soldered. Hope that helps
