x2, cutting was the hardest part. Just use the bracket as a template and your all good

hey guys/gals I just hooked up my ohc and for some reason the temp is 23 degree and it stays on all the time unless i hit the mode button 3 times? any thoughts. bad temp sensor? it had the blue and white and blue and yellow wires and all my color wires seemed to match up perfectly with the how to guide (the 1st wiring color diagram). any advice would be appreciated

Make sure you have the right sensor
The one with the rounded cap not the one with threads

I could use some help with my ohc install
what wires and stuff do I need to get from the explorer?
Where are these temp sensors and stuff located at on the explorer?

I pulled the ohc and mounting plate out, but need to go back and get the wires and sensors.

Thanks

Could I do this on an 87? I know it's an old truck but this would be an awesome thing to have, I'm pretty savy in electric so I'm not worried about having trouble I was just wondering if my truck is equipped with such items needed?

One has a white stripe and the other has a yellow stripe. If you see one that has a red with an orange stripe and a pink with a black stripe that's for the EATC.

Hope that helps you out.

Sooo I have a question based on this post guys!

I didn't realize that there MAY be two different sensors, and while at the junkyard, I pulled the only sensor that I could find that looked like the right one...

I pulled the sensor that has the wiring: red with an orange stripe and a pink with a black stripe.

The quoted post above states that the sensor I have is for the EATC, or at least that it MAY BE for the EATC.

Can anybody verify?

Is there a way to tell the difference between the two sensors?

I know I can get a brand new one from RockAuto for $12-$13 shipped, it's called an Ambient Air Temperature Sensor.

The part on RockAuto is located here: Ford -> 2000 -> Explorer -> 5.0L V8 OHV -> Heat and Air Conditioning -> Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
