I hate that angled mount. I will be changing my oil tomorrow and I use the same oil and filter.

Tractors is soooo dumb! Didncha' know they put the filter above the starter so the truck starts smoother. I just love that they but a funnel below the filter so you wont have to find one everytime you put oil in your truck. I tore that stupid funnel off and just cover the starter with a walmart bag. Damn thing was in my way!!!

Really depends on who put it on last, you can do it by hand but LasT time I had to stab mine with a screwdriver to get it twisted off

if they did, they make wrenches specifically for oil filters, available at your chain auto shop

----------

or you can stab it with a screwdriver but be prepared or a mess underneath

Two things I would recommend when doing an oil and filter change. Always take the filter off first as this alows the oil in the internal passages to the filter to drain down into the oil pan. Then you can drain the oil from the pan and this way you get a little more of the dirty oil out of the engine. The other thing is to put at least some oil into the filter before putting it on as this allows the engine's bearing to get oil pressure sooner when you re-start the engine.

I believe the best way to remove oil filter is from wheel well between tire and fender!!! Just lift mud protector thing up with one hand and reach in with other hand to remove oil filter. Easy access at perfect angle too 

The oil filter on the 3.0 is easy compared to my Dads 2000 5.4L Ford F-150 4X4. In fact, we always get our hand cut when changing the oil and filter on the F-150 and then change the oil and filter in the Ranger afterwards which is a piece of cake. Just get it from the top, thats how we do it.
