Here it is. Fogs will work with low beams, high beams or parking lamps.

  • Locate the dark blue w/light green stripe wire that runs between the under hood Distribution Box and the firewall bulkhead connector.
  • Cut the DB/LG a few inches from where it comes out of the Distribution Box
  • Insulate the cut end of the DB/LG wire that is going toward the firewall.
  • Extend the cut end of the DB/LG wire coming from the Distribution Box and tee it into the solid brown wire that feeds the front parking lamps.
The brown wire is in the large wire bundle that runs close to the Distribution Box. So, with a little planning, the mod could be done in a very tidy manner. The underhood area is a harsh environment and any electrical connections need to be solid, waterproof and well-insulated.

Can I take the dark blue with light green stripe wire and connect it to a wire that is live when key is turned( ie radio) so the fog lights will act as drl even though they won't be at a reduced voltage. Also if there is a good wire to use please provide color and location and pics would help too of both wires to use, thanks!!!!!

I realize that this is a old thread, but would this mod work on a 2000 Mountaineer?

Nevermind, just tried it and it doesn't work.

I just bought a "new to me" 99 Ford Ranger and want to perform this mod. I found relay 10 but not sure which blade to bend as I cannot get the pictures to display. I have tried several different PC's and just cannot seem to the the pictures to come up. Can some PLEASE advise as to which leg on relay 10 to bend over?

Thanks - Allen

Thanks so much. So would that be the one that is closest to the fender and also closest to the driver seat? Upper right most corner.

Thanks - Allen

Yeah, I wish I known that before. Lol. But its ok, I'm sure I can get another relay. I wouldn't call it "badass" though, but its free and convenient.
