Re: How to dye your plastic trim
It specifically says NOT to use it to change colors of trim:
Quote:
Q: Can I dye over any color of rubber, vinyl or plastic?
A: It is not a good idea to try and change the color of your existing exterior trim. If your trim is grey you should use the Grey Dye and Black Dye for black trim. Do not try to dye over brown, blue or green. The results might not be consistent as porous areas tend to be different in how they accept the dye, leaving your trim with an uneven appearance.

Re: How to dye your plastic trim
That is great info cause I sure would like to redo some stuff on the outside of my truck as well. Like door handle's and will it work on the truck outside mirror's as well cause they are a smooth plastic surface.I have a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT.

Re: How to dye your plastic trim
From the few questions I have gotten: 1 bottle is enough to do your bumper valance, and all trim on your truck with 2 coats.... if you need more coats buy 2 bottles just to be safe.

Re: How to dye your plastic trim
I used this on my truck a week ago--(sample pics of difference it made in my 89 Ranger album on here) Used it on the steering column cover, door handles, mud flaps, guard under bumper, rubber on bumper, rubber seal around rear windows on ext cab and cap, etc etc--what a nice touch after detailing the outside of the truck! Got lots of comments about how nice the truck is lookin! Thanx

Whatever color it was originally, the company says it is not intended for cokor changing, it is only to bring back the original color of the plastic
