Would it take more coats to get from grey trim strips to black? Didn't know if you having black trim strips beforehand made it easier to dye.

I just ordered some of the dye. Going to do my front and rear lower bumper valences which are currently gray...gonna dye them black and then rhino line the bumpers black. maybe even paint the grill black as well. That's what I am working up to eventually. The bumpers have a couple of rust spots on them that I want to cover up, but I want the valences and bumpers to match.

Thanks for the tip. BTW, the link that points to ADS...they don't have the stuff anymore. I googled showroom and bought it directly from them. same price. I'll post before and after pics when I am done.

Thanks again!!

Would the plastic krylon paint work as well?
What would be the advantage? Dye over Paint?

How long does this stuff last? I bought some "Back to Black" from Bondo and it worked for about 4 Months and then it started to get a little washed out. Can I expect this same thing with this?

This is a permanent dye. So it's permanent, once applied. You will obviously want to dress the trim and such to protect it when you wash your truck, but it's not something you will need to do every few months. It's essentially the same as spray painting you trim, but instead of paint, you are using a plastic dye.

The paint would work just as well. There is no advantage/disadvantage of using the dye vs using the paint. I just prefer it, because a lot of time you can leave the parts on your truck, and it's less messy in terms of excess going everywhere. Both work well.

I don't think any name brand stores carry this product on shelf...
