okay so just take the aux cable solder either wire to either point it makes no difference?

Not really the only difference would be your channels could be backwards

i tried this today, its way to difficult to solder that small......... i got solder over a few conections.... i scraped it off, hopefully my cd player still works...

1997 Ranger has an IC as well. I found a diagram for it but am not sure what to look for on it. Any tips?

depending on your style of radio the rin and the lin should be on one side or the other of where the ribbon connects to the cd players board

I have seen some one remove the ribbon it is removable and there they are the L OUT and the R OUT go for it my friend.

What style radio do you have

Wow that is confusing my bad looking at the diagram
Pin 18= left negative input
Pin 19= left postive input
Pin 22 = right negative input
Pin 23 = right postive input

This is the style radio i have...now that you explain it the pins dont seem nearly as confusing! Its just the way you said it before i thought i was soldering to pins 1-7.

Go to radioshack or similar and buy a 3.5mm plug and some wire and hook it up little easir
