Sorry I am just now reading this.. The pipe I used was an unused section of exhaust pipe for a dumptruck or something If I remember correctly. It was sitting around my buddies shop. I picked it up and it fit perfectly around the seal. I'm sure you could go to a scrap yard or something and find a pipe big enough.

I used one of these on my transmission output shaft seal. I think I paid $3 at the hardware store and it fits great
  One side is concave so it allowed the rubber boot some room. Maybe take a little trip to the hardware store with your seal and see if you can find something that fits

Thought you were talking rear axle seals. I used pvc on my pinion seals and front axle seals
