Please go to 2.15 minutes of your video and tell us what you said the 50/50 tested at.

Your math SEEMED accurate but the control of +5f was wrong. So your answer was wrong. GIGO.

I be interested to see if maybe the anti-freeze he used was already a 50/50 premix, and he deluded it even more when he did the 50/50 mix

i say that because a 50/50 mix should be alot lower than 5 degrees

That is what I was thinking too. I can see from his jug he has the concentrate. I did not bring it up because he will not acknowledge that in his video he tells us his 50/50 results are +5F. Baby Steps! I was afraid I would confuse him even more.

Good info. So the prestone 50/50 is where modelageek is getting his -34 temp number from. I didnt know that because this is Dexcool which has a higher temp.. Gotta get some other videos done first tho lol
From the back of a Dexcool jug. ....I do appreciate you making videos but they need to be accurate.

If you're not familiar do some very quick research and you'll be reading about corroded gaskets and gooey, jello like chit clogging intakes thanks to dexcool. Nice way to treat your customers GM, no wonder you're a company in decline since ~1979. Really, just use Prestone and you'll be fine.
In the Corvette you have to use Dexcool because it comes from the factory with it. As long as you dont mix any other coolant with it, you are fine (in the Vette I never had a problem). But yea, I heard it's a mess! IDK what is wrong with regular antifreeze...

Naw, it was concentrate. I wonder why it was only -5F then? Hmmm... Maybe the gauge just isnt that accurate?

Ok now we are making a little progress. To be accurate on your video you said +5F fit 50/50. Those $2 testers suck.

I have never heard one good thing about Dexcool.

Well I am being accurate. This was an experiment, those were the results... It's accurate in that sense. The test is flawed because my instrument is not calibrated or has a large range of values that it averages. I just got a new tester and will be making a supplementary video.

Got that right, even the neighbors cat won't drink it.

It is true that mixing dex with other brands is potentially asking for trouble, but more importantly there were GM cars right out of the box, and especially with the 3.1L, that experienced the cooling system problems I noted. And it's things like that which result in loyal customers changing brands. Quite frankly, you can find better quality anti freeze coming out of a drunk pizzing in an alley. I know you mean well to the viewers of the vid and are trying to help, but promoting that dexcool chit is like promoting unprotected sex with multiple $20 street hags.
