Default Fuel Reserve

I would like to know if my truck has a low fuel warning idiot light. I would also like to know if it has a fuel reserve, How many miles may I expect when the gauge reaches empty?

It probably does. Mine does. You have a couple of gallons left so the math is easy. No one here will recommend you run it that low. The fuel keeps the pump cool. Being located in the gas tank, it's a PITA to replace.

Most everyone here removes the bed to do so.

But the bed bolts are expensive so be careful.

X2, the fuel itself keeps the pump cool. If you are running low, you are bound mess it up sooner.

Not to thread jack, but is there supposed to be a chime or something that comes on with the "check gauge" light? Mine has never done it, but I bought it used as well. Just curious, I think it would be nice to have when the light comes on.
