I tried the socket pounding idea. I can't find my grinder. I might go buy a dremel tool and try the cutting a slot in it. I don't want to cut the plastic trying to cut the bolt off.

Re: His to remove this bolt?
Try putting a slot and if that doesn't work trying carefully grinding or drilling just enough so the head is gone or very thin so you can easily chisel it enough to get the manifold off. Hopefully then you can soak it with penetrating fluid and get a good bite on the remaining stud with vise grips.

I had the same issue with my exhaust manifolds. The bolt heads were corroded enough to where you had to try standard and metric sockets to see what would fit tighter.

Re: How to remove this bolt?
Take a extension wack it with a hammer on top of it. Beat it just bigger then socket u are using. Use the hammer to beat that socket on there. That should shock it lose and get it out.
