Default Opinion On Locker

I was thinking about putting a locker in my rear end, but I heard the 3.73 isn't a good rear end to put it in. So I just want to hear your guys opinion thanks.

3.73 is just the gear ratio, that has no effect on if its a good rear end to put a locker in. Now if its a matter of 8.8 vs 7.5, then I could see it.

But what are your needs that you want a locker? perhaps a factory L/S would do you well...?

Well would my rear end be good for a locker I have the 3.0

----------

But I think it's a 7.5 from the minimal amount of research I did

I personally would not invest the coin into a 7.5". For around $200 you can get into an 8.8 expo with disk brake and L/S with 4.10s

Well, if your a novice, I would not venture to far into the expos. But, find a junk yard and find a ranger with the 8.8 L/S, its a bolt in job.

The expos will require shock mounts fabbed and welded on and spring perches welded on.

I've been the yard a couple times I've never seen anything newer than a 96 ranger but why shouldn't I put a locker in my 7.5 what's the negative affects

no negative effects, but I think its pointless to dump $200+ into a rear end that is weak from the get go. You'd be better off spending the money on an 8.8 upgrade with an L/S

----------

And it dont matter the year, you can get something from a 93, theyre all the same
