Default front disc brake rotors & ABS

Have a '96 2wd, 4 cyl w/front disc and rear drum brakes. Want to replace the front rotors - parts house says different rotors for 2 wheel ABS and 4 wheel ABS. How do I tell which I have?

I didn't know you could get even rear wheel ABS in '96...

I thought they all came with rear wheel ABS. Mine did. It was actually quite common starting in the late 1980s IIRC.

To the OP, you should be able to look up the information using the VIN #

Or, you can find an empty section of road and see if you can lock up the brakes.

There's always getting a lift from a buddy. Take a rotor with you to the parts store.

Easiest is to just get the rotors with ABS. It can't cost much more.

My '97 has rear ABS only, yet my front rotors still have the extra (unused) ABS ring on them. Doesn't matter. The presence (or absence) of the ABS "reluctor" ring on the back side doesn't affect the rotor fit.
