Default Ford starter relay clicking!!Help!

Hi I'm new to the forum and own a 1996 Mazda b2300 with 96,000 miles which I think its probably the coolest little truck in the world. The other day after a long day at work I get into my truck to leave and turn the ignition.....all i hear is a series of clicks like a machine gun. I open the hood and have a co worker turn the ignition and i noticed the clicks were coming from my starter relay which i noticed was on the opposite side of the engine compartment than my starter and solenoid were located. Do i need to replace my relay? All the connections look clean on the relay.

Its not over..... I push started my truck down a hill next to my workplace and started her up...turned around..pressed the brake to stop and heard this weird noise like a wrench falling down through my engine. I opened the hood and noticed brake fluid had sprayed everywhere around my master cylinder and brake fluid reservoir and was dripping on the ground. I was kind of in shock. I have yet to even investigate what happened. What does Everyone think?

Well the clicking just means your battery is dead. That what they do. As for your exploding braking components, I suspect that is coincidental.

^x2, first problem sounds like a dead battery

I would go with a dead battery on the first one and (total guess) that the metal clip that holds the cover on your break fuild resivour popped off. Explains the noise and the mess.

I have determined that most mechanical / electrical challanges are directly connected to the nut that connects the steering wheel to the drivers seat.

Well a very dead battery or heavily corroded battery terminals will negate jump starting. Its very easy to not make good contact with jumper cables and I suspect that is the case here.

In any case, I can pretty much assure you the battery and brake problems are unrelated.
