Found 2 Supercabs in Texas
I have located 2 Supercabs with the 2.3 and auto here in Texas. One is a 2008 XLT with 48,907 miles and the Dealer is asking 13,495, this Truck is well equipped, just no alloys. The other truck is a 2010 with 60,490 miles and it is a bare bones XL and the dealer is asking 13,888.
The main thing I am waiting on is to see which one has a limited slip rearend, I am on a farm and really need a good positive traction rearend, and you just cannot tell from the VIN.
I think the 2008 is a fair price, but the 2010 needs to come down to around 12,000, what do the experts think?
FYI, I am paying cash

Re: Found 2 Supercabs in Texas
I need the fuel economy of the 2.3 and I don't need a 4x4 for my flat land farm, a good posi is all I need. The trucks are at different dealers and are about 300 miles away, so I can't look at the door sticker. The problem with 4x4 is you get stuck way far from the road and it takes another or 2 4x4's to get you out, and then they all get stuck and you need to go a find a Tractor. With a 2 wheel drive you get stuck next to the road and a normal 4x4 or another 2 wheel drive can pull you out. Been there, done that, and got the T-shirt. I have been stuck up to the axles many of times in my younger days and of course miles from the road.

if you get stuck in a 4x4 and need 2 more 4x4 and a tractor you proly shouldn't have been driving in that area

I d on't like either deal........I knw this is 5 hours away but it is better then either of those.....it still under warranty...

That being said if you are going to spend that kind of money just buy a new Coma......who ever told you they are 23k is high on something besides life...........they build the Comas in San Antonio.......you can get great deals on manual vehicles......most people don't like manuals but the company still has to build them.....and they sell them cheaper........

Re: Found 2 Supercabs in Texas
Only thing is its a auto 2.3 I personally would keep looking. A 5 speed 2.3 would be much better gas mileage and you control how much power you need when u need it.
Oh go in with cash money. Hell I'd say 8 grand tax tag title out the door. That will give you some wiggle room to play with.

Re: Found 2 Supercabs in Texas
I say that one in Houston, does it look like it has been repainted to you? The decals look non-factory, I would need to run the VIN, could be salvage.

Re: Found 2 Supercabs in Texas
those are factory decals that some one put on the truck...clearly not a sport and has the wrong grille...but all that stuff swaps out easy...someone probably just put them on

Re: Found 2 Supercabs in Texas
I like standard also, all my vehicles in recent history have been standard, but my Mom can't drive a stick. Also, you will not find a new vehicle and rare to find a used vehicle in the Rio Grande Valley with a standard. They just will not sale down here. People down here can barely drive as it is and if you made them shift gears the wreckers would be busy.
Just found a Ranger Supercab 2.3l auto XLT locally for 13,900 with 45,000 miles and it is a CPO vehicle. The price is higher but it has a warranty. Does anybody have experience dealing with a CPO warranty claim? This truck looks good and is better equipped, but has white walls. Where did he find white walls?
