Default 01 Ranger with brake problem, please help

I was driving my truck and the rear wheel starting leaking brake fluid, took it home and took the wheel off found out the cylinder was bad, so as everything in there, shoes, springs, it was a mess. so I went to the parts store bought everything new, adjustment kit, shoes, drums, wheel cylinders and spring kit, put everything back together and it was so hard to put the drum back on, it seems like it will roll in reverse but when I drive forward there is a lot of drag, took it a part again and checked, everything looked good, the adjustment, the E brake is not froze or tight, Its driving me nuts, I sanded the shoes a little bit and now its a little better but still getting hot as hell and dragging, its not drivable at all, any advice ?? what to do now ?

It sure sounds like you need to back off on the adjustment star wheel a little.

Its all the way in, if I try to adjust it, it will push the drum to the outside and that will cause more drag ?

Did take the other side off to see if maybe you missed something or installed something wrong.

I did both sides, I looked up diagrams online, they seem right, why would it roll on reverse with no drag ??

yes, they are all nine inch, I checked the part numbers online, they are all good. one side drags a lot more than the other one, that's the driver side.

Is there any possibility you put the rear shoe on front and the front shoe on the back?
