Default "Door ajar" and interior lite malfunction?

Hello everyone,

Has anyone had trouble with their door ajar/interior light switch malfunctioning? Or maybe a similar issue?

Mine fails intermittently....dome light stays on, and the "door ajar" light stays on also, despite both doors being fully closed.

TIA

My issue was that my cab doors were not closed all the way, they were able to wiggle and therefore make the "door ajar" light and, occasionally, the dome light come on as well. I sprayed the hinges and jaws on the cab doors and driver's and passenger door with WD-40, and make sure I shut my doors tight now, no problems. Others will tell you to spray some WD-40 into the jaws as well, and on the mechanism that tells the dome light come on, and maybe adjust your locking jaws as well.

I'm having the same problem. Even though the doors are shut tight the light comes on "door ajar". replaced dome light but had to remove it because it stayed on. If you find an answer, let me know.

I'll hit the jaws with some WD. Where exactly is that "mechanism"? I dont see a typical little push-button switch in the jamb. I'm assuming it's hidden by the black rubber "accordian" boot between the door and the jamb?

Well the WD-40 treatment worked for my problem. The latches were kinda gunked up and a bit stiff. After the WD, I sprayed some electrical lube in there just for good measure.

Life is good again. Thanks to all!
