Smile Disc brakes

Anybody make rear disc brake kits for 86 ranger xlt? Or can I get parts off another vehicle to make the swap?

Im not positive a explorer axle would swap over.

Generally they take a explorer axle switch the spring mounts and bolt it up. Most will also take mustang brakes and swap them in but this can only be done on the newer trucks.

you can do the explorer axle, but it will be 3" wider than the axle you have now iirc.

American muscle website has everything neded for the rear disc conversion for $184.00.
Listed as 95 Mustang read disc brake kit. $184 new beats $150 used in my book

Let me guess you just attempted to change disc brakes? I tried once and never again. It was a friends jeep cherokee and half way through I gave up and let someone else do it. That is one thing I will take my truck to someone else for.

Should be an esay swap if you got all the parts. This swap seems very straight forward to me. Just didnt know where to get parts and what to get. I ordered the kit from American muscle website. Hope to have it done by Valentines day.
