Default hows speed measured?
jw... what is it that tells the speedometer what speed the truck is going? A sensor or something?

on some trucks in the tailhousing of the tranny, im not sure about the newer rangers though

ya but how come when your in snow and your just spinning your tires it doesnt read how fast your tires are spinning????

odd, when i spin mine in the rain my speedo moves lol. one day i was foolin around and spun em and got up to 22 mph before i got traction

94 and older was a cable on the transmisson to the speedo, 95-97 is the vss sensor on the transmission to an electrical speedo, and 98+ is off the rear end sensor.
