Most time oil leak its head gasket or valve cover. Have you checked underneath the truck to see of oil is on tranny or frame anywhere?

If its coming between the engine/tranny/on bottom of the tranny then its the rear mail seal. Had this problem, but didn't notice it since I never lost any oil between oil changes. Must of been a really slow leak over at least a year. Other then that, it could be gaskets/valve cover. You just need to shove you head under there/under the hood with a good light and take you time looking.
You could also try some heavier weight oil to slow the leak down.

Re: going through oil
Lucas oil additive is pretty good at slowing down leaks.
Not a cure, but a "band aid" of sorts, until you can fix it.
Obviously, the bigger the leak, the less it will help.

Yea, if its a big leak, then clearly something is loose somewhere leaking it. Could be a pretty simple fix, unless its burning oil, or coming from the rear main seal.
Had my rear main seal done for under 100bucks from Ford, but was having the clutch done, and told them I wasn't gonna pay that much to replace the rear main seal when all the hard work is done. This is about a month ago.

Re: going through oil
Anyone know the torque spec for the valve cover bolts? I have a valve cover gasket leak. And I want to check the tension on them to see if I even need to change the gaskets.

Remove the tranny, replace seal, reinstall tranny. Sometimes you need to remove flywheel/flexplate. You have no sig!
