Question help help desperate

i have a ford ranger 1998 i have done many repairs to it but the acceleration is to high when i change from 1st to 2nd shift...... what should i do???????????

Do you mean the RPM? I am guessing the truck is an auto. Sounds like a transmission issue, how many miles do you have and have you ever had a trans flush?

does it shift to second gear really hard? is your speedometer registering?
