Fuel Pump
Well I have to replace the Fuel Pump because the Fuel level sending unit is Shot and I decided it would be best to replace the entire unit While i'm in there.
My question. Is it Possible to take the bed off and do it or do I have to drop the tank, Ive noticed taking the bed off would give me access to the lock ring holding the unit in.

Hello, first post but I DO love my Ranger!
Anyways, for the fuel pump, remove the bed. I managed to remove the 6 bed bolts, disconnected the hose clamps on the fuel filler hose and breather line thingie and just raised up the front of the bed and put blocks underneath it (safety ya know) and was able to swap out the fuel pump. It may seem like a lot to do but really it only took me part of an afternoon and I was taking my time and did it all by myself.
JUST be careful on the connections for the fuel lines. They come off VERY easily by pushing the colored tab into the connector.
If you have any questions pm me.

Yes remove the bed save your self the trouble of trying to drop the tank, especially if it has fuel in there.

Thank you for the Info, I see where to Undo the tail lights, Breather and Fill hose, along with the T55 for the Bed bolts, Is there anything else I should know before I replace it, Ive also Noticed when looking for fuel pump/Sending units that theres some as low as 200 Dollars but the one from Autozone is 400 Dollars, is there a difference? Other than Quality I suppose.

Ya quality is the price difference. the 400 dollar one is probably a motorcraft
Only thing when removing the bed. Measure your gap from cab to bed before hand. So you can get it back on straight.

Yup, measure the gap at the cab and the bumper and get it back straight.
I went for OEM motorcraft one from an online dealership, it was the best price and it was the whole assembly. I only wanted to take the bed off once.
There really isnt a need to disconnect the tail lights if you do what I did and raise only the front of the bed.
Ohh, and the special tool the get plastic ring off.... A block of wood and a hammer and room to swing it.

Under the rear bumper theres a Wire Connector that Feeds Both Tail lights, All I have to do is Undo that. Besides I would Like to just get another pair of hands and take the whole bed off and Clean Up under it.
Do you remember the Name of the site you got the Fuel Pump from?
By the way the Mechanics didn't tighten the Sensor Bolts... lol

I got the fuel pump from Silver State Ford.
And glad you hear you have a buddy to help you out. Mine bailed on me and I had to do it solo. Its still a pretty easy job to do though.
Just remember that the high pressure lines come off VERY easily if you have the correct part the the clip pushed in.
