Not gettin the farmer hate, but whatever. Back on topic, I typically even avoid e15, because I have a noticeable drop in mpg when I run it.

Most farming families I know personally are doing rather well, but then again, they don't grow corn. Lots of juicy tax perks for them, mmmmm, gotta have snowmobiles and quads to service and inspect the property, gotta get new pickups often (business item), etc etc. Can't say I blame them one bit, I take absolute and full advantage of every tax perk I can get my hands on.
With that said, would makes farmers lifestyles or whatever so *bad* that their health insurance costs more than, say, an accountant, a teacher, an engineer, or a dentist? Sick is sick, cancer, brain tumors, strokes, high blood pressure, etc don't discriminate. I haven't seen a state yet that has health ins co's that can base a premium on what they perceive might be "future claims" based on family or the patients health history. I wished they would, I'd save a fortune, I buy my own health insurance, I live in a state where nobody can be denied, and a bunch of the Obamacrap provisions were in place here 14 years ago. What happened when the state did this? Prices went through the roof, but farmers and everyone else paid the same.
Whatever, back on topic. The alcohol in that E10 that's sold everywhere in my state is really great at reducing the odds of frozen fuel lines in the winter. The flip side is, it also absorbs moisture out of the air, and as such it promotes rust forming inside steel gas tanks on power tools and cycles. And for this, we pay more for the E10 than E0 would be.
