However, alcohol really belongs in a glass, either a shot glass or mixed drink glass, and not in the fuel tank. Corn belongs on the dinner table. In fact the last place it belongs is in the production of high fructose corn syrup, an ingredient in what seems like just about everything (just read labels). High fructose corn syrup = sweetner (it's a sugar alternative) = makes people fat = contributes to heart problems and it contributes to diabetes, a disease that's sharply on the rise (hmm, why is that I wonder....). Myself, this is precisely why I wouldn't run it at any cost. Force corn farmers to grow something else, enough of their contributing to rising health care costs only so they can derive personal gain.
Farmers are growing corn for personal gain? Lolwut? Most farmers I know barely make ends meet and are thousands in debt. And a lot of those are growing corn primarily to feed their cows.

And in case you didnt know, farmers were probably hit the hardest with the health care increase. And their insurance wasnt cheap to.begin with.

Not gettin the farmer hate, but whatever. Back on topic, I typically even avoid e15, because I have a noticeable drop in mpg when I run it.

I would only buy e85 if I was running high compression or high boost

Unless the can sell it at half price of gas i won't buy it on the reg due to drop in mpg

Most farming families I know personally are doing rather well, but then again, they don't grow corn. Lots of juicy tax perks for them, mmmmm, gotta have snowmobiles and quads to service and inspect the property, gotta get new pickups often (business item), etc etc. Can't say I blame them one bit, I take absolute and full advantage of every tax perk I can get my hands on.

With that said, would makes farmers lifestyles or whatever so *bad* that their health insurance costs more than, say, an accountant, a teacher, an engineer, or a dentist? Sick is sick, cancer, brain tumors, strokes, high blood pressure, etc don't discriminate. I haven't seen a state yet that has health ins co's that can base a premium on what they perceive might be "future claims" based on family or the patients health history. I wished they would, I'd save a fortune, I buy my own health insurance, I live in a state where nobody can be denied, and a bunch of the Obamacrap provisions were in place here 14 years ago. What happened when the state did this? Prices went through the roof, but farmers and everyone else paid the same.

Whatever, back on topic. The alcohol in that E10 that's sold everywhere in my state is really great at reducing the odds of frozen fuel lines in the winter. The flip side is, it also absorbs moisture out of the air, and as such it promotes rust forming inside steel gas tanks on power tools and cycles. And for this, we pay more for the E10 than E0 would be.

In my wife's car I went from 33-39 mpg to 24-26 avg with e85

If you ever worked on alcohol race cars you know how much bigger you need to go with jets to get em to run. Bigger jets = more fuel burned and horrible mpg
