my 83 diesel was horrible lol the block was so heavy & the tires were narrow so it would sink the tires & that was all she wrote lol

Thats a good point, i bet the diesel blocks are heavy.

2wd pro- better on gas, less maintance, rides better usaully, lighter so alittle more power
4wd pro- better on winter driving conditions, IMO 4x4 hold there value better

that one sure seemed to be lol

it's a 2.2 liter, but it's got little in common with modern small diesels lol
i loved it though - naturally aspirated haha, it smelled horrible fun to drive though

yeah, but the engine caught fire several years ago, and i couldn't work on it at the time. i think the block & crank is fine, just needs everything else lol

Thats awesome, they are very hard to find. When you put it back together have you considered a turbo?

i've considered a stock rebuild, a gas conversion (302 probly), and yes actually, i thought about a body lift on is so i could fit more on top of the motor lol - lemma get a pic

If that truck was in Northern Virginia I would be all over you to buy it lol. I had a chance to buy a turbo diesel about 2 years ago, the turbo was shot and I think they wanted way too much for the truck but even so I regret not doing it, they're so rare that if you want to buy 1 you basically are stuck at the demand of the seller

yep! the motor needs to be pulled & worked over pretty hard, but i think it's do-able in the next few years to at least start on it lol

i need to finish updating my current ranger so i can still drive it lol
