Bucks and kicks pretty damn hard? And happens fairly high rpms? Sounds like your camshaft syncro going bad. They will jerk the truck HARD over 4k rpms. You said it was in the 3s? Little odd because most people, including me, tends to happen over 4k rpms. But its it jerks hard when you have thoses rpms, then I'd say 90% its your camshaft synco and needs to get replaced asap. They can kill your engine if not replaced. Ford charges around $320 at the most, including parts and labor. Or buy the part from rock auto for around $150bucks and do it yourself, it cost $200 from ford.

I'll bet you all $20bucks that this is the OP's problem.

He has already replaced it, but it sounds like it is out again doesn't it. The only other thing I could think of with it, is if the piece on the cam itself that causes the reading in the sensor, is broken or worn

I had the same issue, but not in the 3k range, I just cleaned the MAF and it went away

My elevation goes from 1200 ft to 2600 + in less than 10 miles so you can imagine how tough it is to drive this $#%%%$#

We have replaced all the plugs and wires,Cam sensor ( got a BRAND new one that was BAD) from Ford . The SAD part of this whatever it is the CHECK ENGINE lite does NOT come on--we have even tried the monitor on the vehicle when it was acting up.

The wife drives the truck to and from work and =U know the rest !!

Thanx,

Jim
He stated he just replaced the sensor on it, the top part of it. Not the whole unit.
