2001 Front Brake Rotor Size Problem 288mm?
Hello All,
I tried searching the threads for this topic already. Please forgive me if I'm asking a question again.
I have a 'new to me' Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 RWD and need to replace the front brakes. I purchased from AutoZone the 54059 front rotor part they said fit my vehicle. It has a 261 mm diameter. The rotor that is was on the truck has about a 288mm diameter. AutoZone said 54059 was the only part for the RWD Ranger from 2000-2002 (I had them check the other years to be sure.) I cannot find anything on the interwebs indicating any other rotor size for the RWD, either. Has anyone run into this before? Were the rotors and calipers all changed out to another size by a previous owner possibly? Trying to install the 54059 rotor puts the outer edge of the rotor only halfway onto the brake pads leaving a space you could put two fingers between the edge of the new rotor and the caliper vs. 1/4" space with old rotor.
Thanks in advance for all help!
