Default 2000 Ford Ranger 4WD 3.0l

Hello my name is Wes and have started having a problem with my pickup. My truck sounds and feels like it misses around 4000rpm when idling and you can feel it if your on the highway and want to pass and I smash the pedal to floor it will start missing, I have changed the plugs and plug wires and it still does it, is there any suggestions of what it might be or what to do?

Thanks,
Wes
