Default how to replace coolant: with no radiator cap?

Im under the impression I need a vacuum machine to fill my cooling system (2002 2.3L) Is this the only way to fill my cooling system? I tried once before with no luck. I do have a radiator pet****. HELP!

tried that, but the level never went down even when engine got hot.

what makes you think it needs fluid it should suck it from the overflow as it needs it

^ its been a couple of years and want to replace it. do you think if i turned on the engine and open the rad pet**** the level in the resevoir would drop allowing me to slowly top off the resevoir?

There's a whiteish drain plug that looks like a big bolt in the bottom of the radiator. That's how one drains a radiator. And on your model yes. You refil thru the overflow tank.

I know on my jeep there's a spot where the upper rad hose goes into the engine, there's a bolt that you put a big Allen key back that screw off and it releases the air lock

been reading thru some of my old threads and wanted to say, I now replace the coolant by pulling the line running from the engine to the top of the resevoir just pull the line off the engine and place a replacement line over the fender and into a bucket. then run the engine and add your new coolant into the resevoir. it takes awhile but it works.
