2011 Rear Disk Brake Pad Change
My trucks rear brakes have developed a very annoying squeal with only about 20k on it. I took it to ford to see if hopefully warranty would cover it, but of course it doesn't they said there is fine dust embedded in the pads which sounds like a lame excuse. I looked at the caliper it see how to pull it off, but I'm not to sure how to do it anyone have any tips?

There are two bolts that hold the caliper in place. The upper bolt has a noise damper on it, so you will need an open end wrench for it. The pads are held in by spring clips. While you have it apart, check your parking brake shoes and make sure the sliders are lubed so they don't bind.

No problem. If you are a torque junky like me, you'll need some crows feet to tighten that one bolt back up properly.

Are you referring to the noise damper?
