Question Burning Smell...

Confused...

Anytime I drive the truck for an hour or close to it.. Cold Weather lately, I smell a burnt smell when I arrive home or to my location...
I cant exactly specify if its oil, electrical, or mechanical..
I pop the hood and the smell seems to not be coming from the engine , I am just generally confused as to WTF this smell is or is being caused by.
I have enough issue with this truck, at 126k mi. as is, last thing I need is this bullsh!t..

Any ideas guys??

Could it be breaks? Clutch?

Same here.. Mine sat up for awhile before i bought it. I'm under the impression its spent oil that's leaking out of the valve covers. Had another ranger owner locally say his 92 does the same and has been ever since he owned it.. I don't know for certain though

Have you looked at your slider pins on the front brakes? If not, they could be seized and causing your brakes to drag. Check your back brakes to make sure the parking/emergency brake cable isn't binding in the cable housing. Either case could cause the brakes to.drag just enough to cause a burning smell on a long trip.
