Default filler neck

What's a quick get around to make this stop leaking. I dont have $400.00 to spend for a few weeks to fix it completely. I'd like to just get it to the point where it won't leak. Only a temporary fix I understand this. I just dont appericiate my truck spending $20 of my dollars on the ground.

The leak is about 12-13" down from the cap. Looks like there are two clamps there at the moment. Any ideas? Thanks folks

Gorilla tape or duct tape.lol
Rock auto has one for about a hundred bucks. It is possible to replace by just removing the rear drivers wheel for access. Not easy, but possible.lol

Is it on the vent line? Or the actual gas line? I know my vent line I just cut it stuck piece of a pen tube in it and put clamps on it and it worked like a charm. Fixed my cel too

If it's the filler neck, there is a web site that specializes in them. fillernecks.com or something like that.

If it is for the 2000 yours is different then older rangers. Your metal part and rubber part are separate parts. You need to determine if the leak is from the metal filer neck or the hose's. The older models have one piece filler necks.

No its not the vent line. Its the actual 1 1/4 line going to the tank

I actually think the leak is where it meets the neck to tank hose supply. I was toying with the idea of installing a fernco and.seeing what would happen

I am not really into jerry-rigging repairs, especially anything dealing with fuel. You also live in NY....not the Appalachian mountains in WV.....I am sure you need car inspections in Platsburgh!.........that being said.........You need to find out if the leak is from the rubber or the metal filler........if it is the rubber.....just replace the rubber....I bet it cost less than $30...try an auto part store or an Hydraulic shop..... it is is the metal part maybe you can try cleaning it off and using JB weld......and maybe your fernco? over that.....I would not put a fernco over the rubber that was over the metal....

----------

I just found this part.......I have pulled my bed before and My house does not have the metal elbow......my hose goes from the metal filler to the tank.........maybe my hose is aftermarket......

http://www.fillernecksupply.com/serv...-filler/Detail

I also found this hose

http://www.fillernecksupply.com/serv...ter/Categories

here is the filler neck

http://www.fillernecksupply.com/serv...ries#itemadded

I think you need to get in there and see exactly what the issue is........I would pull the neg battery cable when doing it...........we don't want any accidents

while you are under the truck....check your rear hangers and shackles for rust!!
