Default Coolant leak near upper heater hose/engine connection

'94 Ranger, 4.0, manual (if it matters)

I've noticed an on and off coolant leak for the last several weeks. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it leaks....sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

It seems to be leaking from around where the upper heater hose connects to the engine. It's a tight area so I'm not 100% if it's the hose or something else around that connection (not sure what else right there could leak)

I'm attempting to remove the hose from the engine side....got the clamp loose but after 19 years of being on there, it's ON there. I don't think I'll get the hose off without cutting it, but before I do that I'm curious as to what else could be the source of the leak in that particular area besides the hose? The hose seems to be in good shape...can't see any splits or obvious signs of a leak while running, but I'm not familiar enough with what that hose ties into on that end to know if there's another likely source.
