Default 99 ranger

!999 ranger/4.0/4 x 4/auto-207k miles
My ranger will sometimes crank over well but not start-retrying it a few times will fire it right up like a new car--I changed the ign module under the dash since I thought that was the problem-I think it is probably in the ign switch on the steering column--Can any body shed some light on changing the switch on column--I hope it is a DO IT YOURSELF job--Thanks in advance Rich

But did you do that flatbed yourself? And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but are those some old crown Vic wheels?

Your ICM is part of the ECU. you changed the ignition switch......the lock cylinder just pops out. take the cover off then turn the key. a small ball bearing will pop out. push it in and pull the cylinder out....however, .I doubt that is your issue.............change your fuel filter, add some Techron to the tank and check the pressure with the 3 different tests....

That lil ranger is actually my second -it is a 2000 2.5 4cyl-5 speed that I haul our ATV around behind our MH-I made the flat bed which has a winch to pull the ATV's up the ramps then I can drive them down-To old to take a chance driving them up-It will be for sale shortly since I sold the ATV's
A fellow replied that it could be a fuel problem but once it starts I can set the cruise and it never whimpers-
