Castrol w/ titan Full synthetic to Valvoline MaxLife 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil
Guys, im recently running Castrol edge with titan and i noticed my rear main seal is having a very small leak, is probably a droplet of oil a day.
Last time i changed my oil was 3 months ago, and as of TODAY, my oil level is still full.
But i was to change to high milage oil to help this issue.
I couldnt find any High milage oil that is full synthetic... at least not at 5w20 weight.
So i was wondering since i ran the Castrol full synthetic for maybe 1k miles, is it okay to switch it back to a synthetic blend? Such as Valvoline MaxLife 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil

Yes, you can switch back to synthetic blend.

You'll be fine. Mobil 1 sells a full synthetic high milage oil, however.

I'm thinking my castrol full synthetic is cleaning my seal and making It leak
Idk if I should still use full synthetic high milage
Probably synthetic blend high milage from now on

Re: Castrol w/ titan Full synthetic to Valvoline MaxLife 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor
Full Synthetic just finds the leaks and since it's slicker it appears many times to "improve" the leaks, but leaks leak regardless of Oil format (Full Syn, Blend, Conv.).
Personally I do not "buy into" the suggested uses of *"High Mileage Oils"* since ALL OILS do ONE thing: LUBRICATE.
High Mileage Oils are another of the many SCAMS as the Oil Base is the same across the board.
Were there Synthetic versions of oils available in the 1920s -1960s?
No and those vehicles rolled just fine.
AMSOIL and MOBIL 1 have been arguing for DECADES re; who first developed Synthetic Oils. It really matters not.
There's also Royal Purple and all other Oil manufacturers not mentioned and their "performance" products.
CHEERS!!

Yup, and youd be lucky to have a motor run for over 100k. Now days, 300k is easy. This is from engine improvement but I think the premium oils also have a big impact.

Man.... whatever on my leak as for now...
Just hoping it wont be pouring out from the rear main for the rest of the trucks life....
Is only droplets of oil. My oil level is still the same...

you could increase the weight of the oil. maybe run 5w30 and it might slow the leak even more.
