I had the head rebuilt and after reassembly hooked up the battery and clicking sound under air cleaner. Checked dash and no headlights and check engine light was on. Can't get the engine to start or anything electrical to work.
Any ideas? I'm at a loss.
I imagine you have already double checked, and checked again to make sure you hooked up your battery all the way? Make sure the ground is good too. Have you tried jumping it?
Check the under-hood fuses/breakers in case you accidentally shorted out a circuit.
What year is your ranger? Is the theft light blinking in the dash?

Have checked all the fuses under the dash as well as in the cab. Cleaned the battery terminals. the truck is a 92. Not sure what the clicking is under the air cleaner.

No blinking anti-thieft light. Even if it was on I wouldn't know how do dis-arm it.
anti theft not on a 92 test to see if you have power at the starter when you turn the key. I would use a test light. if no power look at you relay and see if you have power there and if it works

Thanks for the help guys, I didn't have a clue what to do with it and didn't want to take it to a shop because of expense. It was the ground strap on the back of the engine.
Thanks again, your help was very much appreciated.
