So I see there are some other threads about this already, but I still have a question.
I have been having a spongy clutch for a few weeks and when I checked the clutch fluid level it was low. I added some dot 3 and it helped for a few days. I knew I still needed to bleed the clutch but I was being lazy due to family keeping me busy. <--- my excuse
So as I go to leave work one day it has ZERO pressure on the pedal.
I park it and do this.
That didn't take long, and it worked! All was well for 2-3 days plenty of pressure on the pedal and it drove like a gem! Idled very nice and I could put it into gear with no problems. I thought it was all behind me untill I went to work Tuesday and once I got to the light a block away I could not get it into gear. I pushed it home and left it in the street. After work I did the same thing I did before but not with the same results.
Fluid did not come out nearly as fast when I took out the valve/piston. It basically dribbled out. It did enough to put it into gear and pull it up the driveway but I am not going to drive it untill its 100% (pushing it a block before work was not fun)
Sooo my question is would it be worth while to try and replace the master cylinder? Or is it more than likely the slave cylinder? I think I can do the master cylinder swap myself, but not the slave cylinder due to not having enough automotive tools, and ramps.
If master cylinder may fix it is the $45 one at autopart store good or is better to go with a prefilled/bled kit like the one below?

This truck is my daily driver, and I want my beater back asap!
If its more than likely the slave cylinder does anyone recommend a shop in Houston, TX.?
Thank You
Daniel
