Default Slight grinding noise

As the title states, I am hearing a grinding noise in the front end when I make a slight right or left turn. I checked for wear marks on everything around the front wheels and everything checks out ok. There is also no play in the wheel and my steering seems to be fine.

Anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

Thank you

A grinding or a groan? If it's a groan it means your ps pump is going. The grinding though could be a bad bushing. Sorry wish I could help more :/

it's probly the typical ford p/s pump noise. of course, there could always be air in the lines.

edit: if it sounds like a mildly angry old cat, it's probly fine. if it's really loud...maybe it is going out.

It's not the sound the P.S pump makes I am familiar with the groaning/whining associated with that. I can feel this grinding through my floor, so I am assuming it has to be bad bearings or maybe a bushing or something.

ah, gotcha. you only specified a 'noise' in the OP.

so, you don't think that there might be air in the lines (just guessing)?

you could always take the hub assembly apart, and check out those bearings. are you familiar with good bearings vs. bad bearings?

same for the bushings... might as well take a look since the truck is 20 years old.
