:::Noise In The Driveline
I have a 2001 Ranger 2.5L 5 speed with 162,000 trouble free miles.
A noise developed in the clutch area. Sounds like a rattlesnake shaking it's tail. Noise isn't loud, and it only occurs when the truck is in gear. The noise starts slowly as I let off the clutch, and speeds up as I get closer to the clutch friction point. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! |

With your current mileage and if you haven't replaced your clutch/pressure plate, I would do so at the same time while the tranny's out and it might be a good time for the clutch slave cylinder too!! plus it's always a good idea to resurface the flywheel.. Parts won't be that much ,it's the labor that might be high if you have it done. Stay away from AMMCO!!!!! Independent Transmission shops tend to do better work.. Another thing too is you might consider replacing U-joints while the drive shaft out too !! |
