Rotor size confusion on FX4
I have been looking at getting drilled and slotted rotors for the ranger lately but, I'm running into some problems. All the places I check give a 12 inch diameter on the slotted rotors, however according to Ford's website the FX4 uses 11.28 inch diameter rotors. So how can any of these fit?
Am I crazy or just looking at this incorrectly?

Ranger 4x4's made the midyear change from 11.28" to 12" during the 2003 model year. Your 2004 FX4 definitely came from the factory with 12" rotors.

This might be a dumb question, but 2002 alcoas can fit the 12 inch rotors, right?

Yes, they are the same wheels as 2003 and later Level II's.
However, the 12" rotors cannot be used with the 2002 knuckles because those knuckles are set up to position the calipers for the 11.28" rotors. Need to swap to 2003.5 or newer knuckles to use the 12".

Ok, good to know. I'm eventually going to have all around disks.

So all I would need to replace is the rotors and the bracket that holds the caliper or are the calipers bigger to?

But you can't just slap the rotors on. Like rwenzing said - there is more to it:

My opinion: I don't think it's worth changing the knuckle out for the slightly larger 12" setup.
