The length should be short so as not to stress it but grade 8 all the way. My roll bar is bolted down with 2 1/2 inch CAT bolts 2 fender washers and a lock washer with Loctite on the nuts.

I have 10 bolts holding it down.

I have the double mushroom style so I have 4 front plates, I was debating on doing just putting 2 bolts in each plate

I would do at least 4 if you can. I only have 2 in the rear plates because I had to mod mine to fit. Had to weld on new ones.

That really sucks man. Sorry to hear it, as far as mounting ange fill it with concrete and weld it or bolt it to the frame, shit does happen and its way better to be overkill than to roll it and it just collapses like the roof would.
