ok i have had to do this, the dealer you are looking about 130, a lock smith 60 to 90, but if you have one chipped key you are good to go, the truck will program a new one off the old one, the dealer doesn't want you to know this. so what i did was order chipped keys online with the food logo or you could opt. for your fav team....ect...
then i got...what walmart to cut them for free... then used the simple instructions on how to program them from the web... went a little like this put key in on "on"wait ten min, turn off repeat put new key in and it will program it...

I was under the impression that you had to have two coded keys in order to program more...

Would TrueValue have blank keys? I just need another one because I have a bypass module for my Viper alarm I'm anxious to put in but need a key to work the module. So any advice would be helpful. Thanks to all.

Default keyway

I have replaced keys with chips. There are some locksmiths who carry the keys... You may have to do a lot of phone calling to track them down or the dealer!

I was thinking getting a regular spare key non chip cut it to my key pattern and used that as to start the engine while my other key the transponder key, is in the bypass module. That should work. I'm thinking that will work. Anybody?

i had 1 chipped key when i bought my truck. took it to the dealership and a guy hooked me up. He said normally to get it done it would cost like $130+ but he did it under the counter for $50... first and only good experience i have had with a dealership...

now i have 2 chipped keys and a blank key that i got from Lowes or some where that just opens the doors

I hope somebody is on I really need some help right now. I have a Viper alarm/remote starter system just got today. Bought a bypass module and realized it needs a spare key. I only have one key. What my question is: could I get a regular spare key, program it and use that to start the truck up "WHILE" my original transponder key is inside the bypass module? Hope someone can answer because I really want to setup my alarm/remote starter system that and I don't want to spend a wad of money by going to the dealership. Hate going there. So if anyone can help me on this I would really appreciate it. Thank you
