Default 89 Ranger pulls over strong but FP won't cut in!!

So here's the story,

Parked my ranger in the garage a year ago. It was running perfect before I parked it! So I occasional would go out & start it up, but battery died (Last years cold winter) So I left it alone & purchased a new battery the other day. Hooked it up & pulled it over...strong pull over but no fuel pump cutting in. Looked in distribution box to check FP relay...wasn't blown....but popped a new fuse in there anyways, just to be sure. Looked at all the other fuses in there...ALT 1 & ALT 2 were blown! Hmmm weird I thought! Popped 2 new ones in....hooked the battery back up & they blew instantly! So I ignored that for a few mins & proceeded to disconnect the inertia switch & ran a ground wire from it...then a fusible link right out to the battery......Whinnnnnnnnn........sweet the pump cuts in!!!!! So that's where I am now! Where do I go from here? Alt 1 & 2 fuse issue???? No power to inertia switch issue?? I'm off the team when it comes to electrical issues! Anyone have any sugestions??
