Default Clogged heating air vents due to mice

HI, I inherited a 1991 ford ranger 4x4 and it has sat for over a year in a garage. Last time I had it running I noticed the air vent was clogged then witnessed a mouse exiting the air vent. I can only assume mice have nested throughout the heating vents and have clogged it up. What should I do? Should I attempt to remove the dash and gain access to venting to remove and clean? Is this possible? Is there a less invasive solution? Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

With a shop vac with hepa filter I would vac the surface vents dash still in tact to remove as much as I could....and the remove vent covers and vaccum as far down as you can. Even might be tworth the peace of mind to mask each duct off with plastic and tape slice a cut out for the vac hose to stand a better chance of getting everything.

Put a shop vac on one end and blow with an air compressor on the other. You may have a little mess to clean up on the inside of your truck.

Just putting out this forewarning- you're opening up a giant, smelly, disgusting, illness inducing can of worms.

Cleaning up mice nests in cars is very dirty. You may want to cover the seats in plastic or remove them all together, depending on how bad it is. I would get some Lysol, etc, to get down in the vents before you start using the fan to blow heated dirty mouse air on yourself.

My 2cents.
