Hey all,
I signed up on the forum to specifically ask this question and to hopefully get some answers or suggestions. So here’s my problem, I have a 1994 3.0L Ford Ranger 4X4, reg cab, long box, and I cannot for the life of me get it to warm up and put out some heat. Here is what I have done and what I have found out, first I followed this guide
http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-s...ing-guide.html With no luck, so here’s the rest:
Temp gauge only comes up to the start of the “N” on normal
Top hose of the Rad is Warm
Bottom hose if cold
replaced the thermostat 4 times now (even used one that opens at a lower temp)
Water pump IS working (got my wife to start the truck while I had the cap off, level dropped, also topped up coolant at this time)
Tried a different water pump just to be sure
Heater core line is warm at best
Replaced the temp sensor
Tomorrow I might completely pull the thermostat just to see if I can get the bottom of the rad warm. Just to be sure the motor wasn’t over heating, I checked it with a thermal imaging device against my 97 Ranger 3.0L, and it actually seems to be running cooler than the 97. I also have a dodge ram that is doing the same thing, and I have done everything except change the motor to try and get that one warm with no luck. I have had the dodge to several shops and don’t want to follow down the same road with the Ranger. So here I am, I hope you guys can give me some guidance and maybe some suggestions that I might not have thought of. Any help would be awesome!
