I have a 2000 ford ranger super cab 3L v6 automatic, speedometer is not working (The MPH is staying at "0" when I am driving), overdrive off light is flashing and the truck is not shifting out of first gear properly. I changed the ABS/speed sensor on the rear end. I am confused can anyone offer what to do

By CEL, the poster above meant "check engine light". If your engine light is on, you can pull the trouble codes.

CEL is Check engine Light on dash. If you have a scanner you can pull codes from the port located below the steering wheel.

I know you've been doing some work to your truck swapping parts out.... Are you sure everything is hooked back up the way its supposed to be? Did you swap beds and kink any wires by chance while doing so?(possibly the wires going to the speed sensor you just replaced?)

With that said, I'm not sure that the speed sensor would keep the trans from shifting through gears but maybe someone else can chime in on that part.

I would trace these wires back to the source and make sure they aren't "chafing" against anything and rubbing metal to metal

Its weird because this all went down right after I did some work to my truck this past Saturday. I swapped out my dome light for a mustang dome, replaced my reverse tail light bulbs, and ran a new antenna wire from my antenna on the fender through the dash into my radio bezel.

And you also have an OHC correct?

Do you know how the connection was made behind the dash to the gray/black wire (vehicle speed sensor) to the gem?

Maybe it wasn't very secure and when you were doing the antenna it got separated?

Turns out my mustang dome was wired incorrectly, in turn causing the #26 fuse to blow.

Its wierd cause I checked every fuse in the dash panel and they all tested good.
