Smile How to change Oil Pan Gasket on 1992 Ranger

I have a 1992 Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 2x4. What is the best proper procedure to change the Oil Pan gasket on it. I hear I need to lift the engine?

Yep, you'll need to lift the engine away from the cross-member so that you can gain enough clearance to pull it out. To be honest, removing an oil pan with the engine and transmission still in the truck is an absolute nightmare. If I ever have to replace the oil pan gasket on either of my trucks again, I will pull the transmission or the whole motor first.

Hi, I have the exact same situation. Can you help me? I need to replace the clutch anyway, so if I remove the trans, do I still have to lift the engine to replace the oil pan gasket? It's a '92 3.0L, 2x4. Red. All around a good looking truck, actually.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Tim
