Default Towing my 2000 Ranger 2dr short cab with tow bar

My question is about towing my Ford Ranger with a simple tow bar which can be purchased from Walmart for about 100 dollars. I have already towed the ranger with a Uhaul car-hauler from Houston to San Angelo. Now I am looking just to be able to tow the Ranger short distances with a tow bar, around town.

I am looking for suggestions about how to drill the 4 holes into the front bumper in a secure fashion OR? suggestions in general as to how to tow the Ranger around town.

How do I secure the steering wheel or will it simply "follow", without being secured?

Also, what of the brake lights? With the car trailer it was simple just plug an go. However, with the two cars in tandem (an no trailer), where do i get my lights to work? or do I just click on the mergencies the entire distance?

Any tricks of the trade?

I know I should remove the driveshaft and tape a plastic bottle into the transmission hole, so as not to lose fluid.
