My shifter handle is loose and it doesnt stay on the right position , for example..when i put it on R it indicates N on the panel , is it something i can fix myself? where do i get the parts?
please help.....tnx

Your talking about the gear selector indicator? It's probably just a broken cable. Just buy a new shift indicator from ford/ or used (not broken) at a junkyard. Simple fix.

I had the same problem with an old f150 years ago. I picked up a cable at a pull yard for 5 bucks. Fairly simple fix. Either that or just learn to deal with it... I removed a cable from my old mustang just to keep my brother from driving it in high-school because it never could get it in drive without the indicator.

Wait, is the shifter loose like its got a good bit of wiggle room between the gear slots? If so, you could have blown bushings in your column. The hardest part about installing new ones is the room you have to work with. I fixed my brothers by changing It to a floor shifter when his bushing went out in his s-10.
