Default Attaching Lumber Rack to 2001 Ranger Edge

Hey Ford Fans

Got an issue some of you may be able to help me with...

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge. For those of you who don't know the Edge version of the Ranger is lifted a bit, easier to clean out on the inside, has plastic runner caps on the top rails of the sides of the beds, and a few other things.

A few different companies make specialized lumber/ladder racks for attaching to trucks with bed rails like this or step sides, etc. Those usually involve bolts and squared off u shaped clamps for the attachments. They also usually don't include over the cab racking. And, of course, usually involve a price tag of around $500 and up. I'm looking for something more contractor grade and $100-200.

So I'm looking at used lumber racks. Found some quality ones in my price range that are the correct dimensions but just have holes in the flat iron, or flat metal, parts that would rest on my plastic rail caps. None of them come with mounting hardware or especially the necessary hardware for my situation.

Anyone have anyone who knows these Edge model rail caps know of the best/most economical ways to mount standard lumber racks to them?

Thanks a lot for your time/assistance.

Vanguard makes a set-up that cantilevers the rack out and around the cap. You do lose a fair amount of rack capacity when you do this though. I've ordered this set-up on occasion for guys who just won't give-up their caps. Definitley not the best solution, but it works. Unless you can find the exact set-up used, you're not going to get it for $100-$200, though.
